WAVE WALL

2008
SEATTLE AQUARIUM. SEATTLE, WA. Steel, aluminum, hybridized plaster, mixed media.  100 ft x 16 ft x 1 ft (variable).

I worked closely with MITHUN and the Aquarium team to develop a sculptural wall that wraps 3 sides of the interior entry hall of the Aquarium, adjacent to "Windows On Washington Waters", a 120,000-gallon showcase exhibit. "Wave Wall" helps humanize the scale of the large industrial space, and engages visitors with the changing wave shapes, invariably causing them to explore with their eyes and hands.
Commissioned by the Seattle Aquarium Society.

This commission also includes a companion donor wall sculpture across the Great Hall space which is 30 ft x 12 ft x 12 ft made of glass, aluminum, copper.
